Borderline Personality Disorder

Borderline Personality Order is a condition typified by extreme mood swings and emotional volatility with suicidal thoughts and self-harm.

Various modalities can be used to treat BPD. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a form of CBT that targets the suicidal thoughts and self-harming using a high intensity mix of one-to-one, telephone and group counselling and there is some available in some areas of the NHS. Schema Therapy requires the therapist build a relationship with the client (which might mean several sessions a week for more than a year) before using cognitive, behavioural and imaginal techniques to restructure memories of childhood by limited reparenting.

There is a support forum for people with BPD, run by people with BPD.

I will take clients with BPD and have some experience of working with this illness, but this is going to be a long and expensive process, sorry!
